Notes:
We have been trying for a month now to update this but all we get done is moving docks. The lake is still on a rise with about a foot per day. We are 34 ft high and going. As of 4-15-08 the corp says we will be around 695 With our normal being 654. If it stops raining. Now to the fishing Bass are beginning to move into the flooded timber with small crankbaits and spinnerbaits both working. Crappie really aren't doing much but should as soon as the water temp warms. Temps are in the upper 50's White bass did well early but have slowed with this rise being so fast. The water still has a lot of floating debris and is muddy. What we need is warm weather and the rain to quit. WISHFUL THINKING When things calm down and fishing gets on some kind of a pattern we will write a more indepth report. I thought I would update about the water level as of sat. 4-12-08 the lake was around the 694.0 ft mark. According to the corps page we will gain a little more and crest sometime sunday night or monday morning. We got reports today (sat) that the dam opened its flood gates. If your familar with our resort you know where our gas storage tanks are well we had to empty and remove them on friday by sat. our barrier around them was full of water. Thats a 3 foot rise in about 24 hours. Our walkways to get to the marina is now about 75 ft from the motel. For the latest reports you can call the marina at 417-273-4444.
